Buds Youth Theatre is Singapore’s only free youth theatre. It features young writers, actors, designers and directors aged 15 to 25 from all walks of life.
From Scratch 2012 showcases work written and produced by them with the help of professional theatre directors Cheryl Lee, Rayann Condy, Serena Ho and Claire Devine. The work written has been mentored by local writers Cheryl Lee, Chong Tze Chien and Lucas Ho.
From Scratch 2012 comprises:
1. Confessions by Al Hafiz Sanusi
A man in limbo, faced with a dubious past and an enormous dilemma. Which way will he turn?
2. Daffodil by Dawn Teo
An abstract piece about isolation, love and forgotten dreams.
3. Forgotten Promise by Flora Yeo
A family drama looking at Alzheimer’s, the effects and the rewards.
4. A is for Abuse. B is for Blame by Aisha.
An intelligent study of abuse.
